City Council

Ruben served as a New Jersey State Assemblyman, representing the 33rd District, from 2008 to 2014.

As a member of the State Legislature, Ruben was privileged to serve on both the Appropriations and Education Committees.

Ruben currently serves as an educator in the City of Paterson’s school system. Furthermore, he earned a B.A. in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

More significant than holding elected office, Ruben is a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease in 1999.

After a regimen of Chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he made a full recovery.

Ramos resides in the southwest section of Hoboken with his wife Norma, stepdaughter Gail and two children, Isabel and Ryan.
